Per Farragut Municipal Code Chapter 14. Division 5. Sec.14-76 A complainant must identify themselves to the Town office prior to any action being taken.
A complaint is submitted to the Town. It is then reviewed and investigated by code enforcement. If a violation exists, code enforcement will contact the responsible party to remediate the issue. If the issue is not remediated within the time allotted a citation to municipal court is issued where fines up to $50 per day per violation may be assessed.
No. If someone in your subdivision is in violation of your association’s bylaws, it is the responsibility of the association to initiate legal action. Town Code Enforcement can only enforce Town ordinances.
The responsible party must be provided notice that there is an issue. The Town provides them with a reasonable time period to correct the violation. In some cases, code enforcement will grant extensions to complete the work, or if no action is taken to correct the violation a citation to municipal court is issued and the judge will hear the case. Please rest assured that your complaint is important and is being handled in the most expeditious and appropriate manner. If you have questions regarding the case you may contact Holley Marlowe at 865.966.7057 or email@example.com.
