1. How many parks are in the Town?

The Town has four parks, one located in each quadrant of the Town.

2. When are the parks open?

Town parks are open every day of the year from sunrise until 10pm, with the exception of Anchor Park, which is open from sunrise to dusk. Park restroom hours will vary seasonally.
• Spring, Summer, Fall Restroom Hours (March-October): 8:00 am – 10:00 pm
• Winter Restroom Hours (November-February): 8:30 am – 4:30 pm

3. When is the McFee Park splash pad open?

The splash pad is open seasonally from early May through late September. Exact opening and closing dates will be updated on the Town’s web site once available. The normal splash pad operating hours are 10am until 8pm seven days a week. The splash pad may be closed daily from 2pm to 3pm for routine maintenance. We cannot always guarantee that the splash pad will be operating as it may be closed unexpectedly for maintenance or safety issues.

4. How do I reserve a pavilion?

The Town has seven pavilions available for rental that can accommodate small gatherings and groups up to 200 people in size. To see the pavilion availability schedule, click here. Please note that if the date on the calendar is blank the facility is not available. Use the drop down menu at the top right hand corner of the calendar to switch facilities. To reserve a pavilion, click on the available date and follow the prompts. If you have never reserved a pavilion online with us you will be required to create an account. To reserve a pavilion by telephone, please call (865) 218-3375. Please note that when reserving a pavilion at McFee Park you are NOT reserving the splash pad. We cannot guarantee that the splash pad will be operating during your rental.

5. When are the athletic fields open?

Natural grass athletic fields at Town parks open for the season during the first weekend of March and generally close at the beginning of November. Synthetic turf fields are available for rental year round.

6. How do I rent one (or more) of the Town’s athletic fields?

Only organized groups that are able to provide proof of liability insurance with a minimum of $1,000,000 in coverage are able to reserve Town fields. Groups that can provide proof of insurance can reserve time through the seasonal field allocation process, or rent on a first-come, first-serve prepay basis. The field allocation process allows groups to rent a large amount of time prior to the next season and offers an installment method of payment. This process is done twice a year; once in January for the spring/summer season and again in June for the fall/winter rental season. Tournament rentals are also available. 7. How much does it cost to rent the fields?

Field rental prices are $20 per hour for natural grass fields and $40 per hour for synthetic turf fields.

8. I reserved a field but my reservation was rained out. What can I do?

Any reservations that were canceled due to inclement weather will be rescheduled if availability permits. We can also issue your group a credit for future use, or issue a refund to your group.

10. Why can’t my club/team just show up on a field and use it?

Use of the Town’s athletic fields is by reservation only for two reasons: to avoid conflict with other user groups and the Town’s liability insurer and legal department require specific information and insurance for organized clubs or teams. If your club or team does show up to use the fields without a reservation you will be asked to leave.

11. Why do I need to have proof of liability insurance to rent a field, and where can I get that?

The Town’s insurer requires that groups using Town fields have liability insurance. A policy can be obtained through most insurers; many sports organizations have a national governing body that will also sell these policies. For a sample copy of the insurance form, click here.

12. How do I reserve The Town Hall Community Room?

The Town Hall Community Room is no longer available to rent. Classroom space, as well as the gym and Assembly Hall, are available for rent at the Farragut Community Center. To reserve space at the Farragut Community Center, please call 865-218-3376.

13. How do I volunteer with the Town?

14. Are food trucks permitted in Town parks?

Food trucks (including ice cream trucks) are not currently permitted in Town parks. Park users renting pavilions can have food catered for their event, but food must be served in the pavilions.

15. Do I need a fishing license to fish at Anchor Park?

Persons 12 years of age and older will need a valid State of Tennessee fishing license to fish at Anchor Park. Children under 12 years of age do not need a fishing license.

16. What programs does the Town offer?

17. I don’t need to rent an athletic field but I want to use a park for a boot camp (or professional photo shoot, or other use) what do I need to do?

Because the parks are maintained with taxpayer dollars, any business or for profit group needs to arrange usage by calling Lauren Cox at (865) 218-3376. There is a $25 per hour fee and proof of liability insurance is required.

18. How do I arrange to have a special event at a Town park?

19. What are the Farragut Museum’s hours?

The Farragut Museum is open Monday - Friday from 11am to 2pm with the exception of holidays. For more information on the museum, click here.

20. How can I arrange a tour of the Farragut Museum for my group?

Groups can tour the Museum during regular hours, docents are on duty to assist with questions. Groups can also arrange for tours outside normal museum hours by contacting Julia Barham at museum@townoffarragut.org.

21. How much is entry into the Farragut Museum?

Museum admission is free!

22. I have an item that I think would be great for the Farragut Museum, do you accept donations?

Occasionally the Farragut Museum will accept donations of historically and/or regionally significant items. However, due to limited storage, the museum is able to accept very few items. If you have an item you would like to donate to the Farragut Museum, please contact Julia Barham at jbarham@townoffarragut.org.
