Public invited to vote on favorite Parks & Rec projects

FARRAGUT, TN – The Parks and Athletics Council is inviting the public to vote on their favorite proposed Farragut Parks & Recreation projects at the Farragut Community Center between 10-11 a.m. and 5:30-6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 16, and Wednesday, Dec. 8. Attendees will have the opportunity to rate the most-requested projects from recent public surveys at these drop-in events.

The parks department is in the process of creating a 10-year Parks & Rec Master Plan. The last parks master plan was created in 2012. New master plans should be created every ten years, and ideally, updated every five years.

Online and short in-person surveys were recently conducted to determine community interest in future facilities, programs and initiatives. There were approximately 900 respondents, and this info was used to create the items to be voted on by the public.

A draft of the master plan will be discussed at a Board of Mayor and Aldermen meeting in January and voted on in February.

Incorporated in 1980, the Town of Farragut has top schools, safe neighborhoods and high development standards, making it one of the best places to live in the Southeast.
