Little Turkey Creek Greenway

This project will provide a critical greenway connection for the Town’s strategic goal of providing excellent parks, recreation, cultural amenities and programs. The intent is to extend the Little Turkey Creek Greenway from the existing southern terminus on open space in the Brookmere Subdivision to the existing greenway that extends from Sheffield Subdivision across Little Turkey Creek to Virtue Road (see map). The greenway connection will be approximately 1,450 feet in length, extending along the eastern side of Little Turkey Creek between termini.  This extension will connect Sheffield and Vista Subdivisions to Sugarwood Subdivision and Kingston Pike. The intended route will extend from Open Space property owned by Brookmere, across Farragut-owned public property and four private properties, ending at a proposed trailhead on Open Space property owned by Sheffield and Vista Subdivisions, adjacent to the existing greenway between Sheffield and Virtue Road.

Motorists on Virtue Road should be aware of the need for short-term lane closures during mobilization activities, as well as various other times as materials and equipment are delivered. Traffic will be maintained by flaggers through the work site during these lane closures.
