The Town of Farragut was chosen by the BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee Foundation to receive a $750,000 play space in 2021. It is one of 10 play spaces that will be built across the state in celebration of the company’s 75th anniversary.
BlueCross Healthy Place grant applicants were invited to choose from six project packages based on the needs of their communities, and Farragut chose the Thrive and Play design, an inclusive, multi-generational space. It will be built behind Farragut Town Hall on Municipal Center Drive.
The new play space will be constructed by Chattanooga-based PlayCore. No matching funds are required for the project.
Site preparation began in July 2021. The project will be completed by late 2021.
