2020 Introduction to Farragut Program
Introduction to Farragut is a unique way to connect participants with the Town, providing information on its history, government structure and operations, public safety, education, and volunteer opportunities.
The program will begin with a reception and campaign kickoff at the Farragut Town Hall on Wednesday, August 19 at 6 p.m. Classes will be held at Town Hall on the following Wednesdays: September 2, September 16, September 30, October 21, and November 4 starting at 6 p.m. and lasting for approximately 2 hours each night. Class participants will also have the opportunity to go on an optional Tour of the Town with the Town Administrator on the morning of October 2.
Application Process and Program Details
The application period has been extended until 12 pm on Friday, August 7. The program is open to anyone interested in learning more about Farragut (Farragut residency is not required). Program requirements include attending the August 19 reception and campaign kickoff, at least 4 of the 5 classes, one (1) Board of Mayor and Aldermen meeting (2nd and 4th Thursdays of each month), one (1) Municipal Planning Commission meeting (3rd Thursday of each month), and participating in a class project by completing volunteer hours at a non-profit of the Town's choosing; non-profit to be announced. More information about the class project will be presented at the kickoff.
Space is limited; accepted applicants will be notified within seven to 10 days of the application deadline. Applicants may apply online or download the application. Downloaded applications should be completed and returned to the Farragut Town Hall or emailed to firstname.lastname@example.org by the application deadline. The Farragut Town Hall is located at 11408 Municipal Center Drive across from the Farragut Branch Post Office.
