Supply Our Schools has been extended through Friday, Aug. 20!

SOS! That's right - take part in your local community and help Supply Our Schools this August! Sponsored by the Town of Farragut/Knox County Schools Education Relations Committee, Supply Our Schools is a supply drive created to assist the five public schools that serve Farragut-area youth - Farragut Primary, Intermediate, Middle and High schools and Hardin Valley Academy. Supply Our Schools aims to create awareness about needed supplies for the 2010-2011 school year and to stimulate support for our local public schools.

Participating in Supply Our Schools is as easy as 1-2-3!

1. Check the supply list below.

2. Visit Farragut retailers to purchase needed supplies.

3. From Aug. 2 - 20, drop off the supplies at any of the five schools from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. or 1 to 2 p.m. OR at the designated donation barrels near the Information Center in the Farragut Town Hall from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. (All locations are Monday - Friday only.)

Following are needed school supplies: 8.5X11 white and colored copy paper; No. 2 pencils; whiteboard markers, erasers and cleaning solution; black and blue ink ballpoint pens; red pens; construction paper; and facial tissue.

And mark your calendar for the 2010 Tennessee Sales Tax Holiday set for Aug. 6 - 8...a perfect time to purchase these needed supplies!

Beginning in August, look for weekly announcements with additional needed school supplies in the farragutpress and West Side Shopper News, as well as at www.townoffarragut.org and on the Town's government access channel (Charter & TDS).
