Town of Farragut Recruitment Process

The Town of Farragut is an Equal Opportunity Employer. It is the policy of the Town of Farragut not to discriminate on the basis of race, color, national origin, age, sex, religion, veteran status, or disability in its hiring, employment practices and programs. Accommodations may be made for the handicapped by calling (865) 966-7057 in advance of the appointment time.

How to apply

STEP 1: Find a job vacancy

The Town of Farragut only accepts applications for jobs in which there is a current vacancy.  There are several ways to find out about job vacancies:

  • Job announcements are posted on this website.
  • Generally, the Human Resources Department advertises job vacancies in the employment classified section of the Knoxville News Sentinel and/or professional publications, although some vacancies for seasonal employees are only listed online. The Knoxville News Sentinel is also available on-line at www.knoxnews.com.

The Town does not maintain a waiting list or eligibility roster and/or register.

STEP 2: Apply for a job

Should you be interested in an advertised open position and believe that you qualify for that job, you must obtain, complete and submit an official Town of Farragut application by the application deadline specified on the job announcement or advertisement.  The submitted application must be signed in order to be accepted.  Applications are available at the Farragut Town Hall and at www.townoffarragut.org or you may call (865) 966-7057 in order to have one mailed to you.

Resumes may be included as a supplement to the application but NOT as a substitute.  For some jobs, copies of diplomas, transcripts, writing samples or certifications may be required.  The need for this documentation will be specified in the job announcement.  Applications and other attached information may be mailed or delivered to the Farragut Town Hall at 11408 Municipal Center Drive, Farragut, TN 37934, faxed to (865) 675-2096 or emailed to janet.curry@townoffarragut.org (application must be completed, scanned and e-mailed) .

Applications must be received in Town Hall at the Human Resources office by 5:00 p.m. on the stated deadline or must be postmarked by that date.

 STEP 3: Application Review

Applicants that meet the minimum requirements are identified by the Human Resources Department through a comparison of the submitted application and associated materials and the required knowledge, skills and abilities that are necessary for the job.  Qualified applicants are submitted to the Department Head for final selection.  At this point, the Department Head may call you in for an interview or to gain additional information.

STEP 4: Interview

The Department Head will call only the most qualified applicants for an interview.  Please do not call the Town for the status of your application. A letter will be mailed to you.

STEP 5: Offer

With the Town Administrator's approval, a job offer will be extended.  Following the offer of employment, the Town of Farragut requires a background check, and a Town paid drug screen/physical.   After selection is made, the Human Resources Manager makes the necessary arrangements for employment of the successful candidate.
