Let your imagination run wild at the Farragut Book Fest for Children

 AltTextSponsored by the Farragut Arts Council and the Knox County Library Farragut Branch, the 10th annual “Farragut Book Fest for Children” will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 8, at Founders Park at Campbell Station (formerly Campbell Station Park). This free event will feature storytellers, book signings by local authors, art activities, cookie decorating, face painting, music, refreshments and more. The first 400 children will receive a free coloring book, pencil and crayons. Children are encouraged to dress up as their favorite storybook character.

The Hardin Valley Academy Theatre Group will perform at 10:30 a.m. under the main entertainment tent. Bright Star Touring Theatre ( will deliver two performances: “Gus goes Green” at 11 a.m. and “Professor Parsnip’s Lab of Healthy Choices” at 1 p.m. Magician Michael Messing will perform at 12 p.m. Featured authors will include David Boyce, Bonnie Cadotte, David and Mary Faith Enyart, Thelma Hartigan, Charles Haun, Jennifer Hultz, Elizabeth Kidder and Joe Moore. Event media sponsor is the Farragut Shopper News. In conjunction with this event, the Friends of the Knox County Library will host a used book sale from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m on Friday and Saturday, April 7 and 8.

Limited parking will be available at Founders Park at Campbell Station; additional parking will be available at Farragut Assembly of God, located across the street from the park on Campbell Station Road.
