The Town purchased the former Faith Lutheran Church, located at 239 Jamestowne Boulevard, as a Farragut community center and Knox County senior center. The cost of the building was $2 million, and Knox County has agreed to fund renovations up to $2 million and share operating expenses.
Renovation funds will be used to make the building adhere to current ADA standards and to make it suitable for use as a community center and a senior center. Work has begun on the design of the renovation.
Community feedback on programming for the community center was collected in August via a public meeting and an online survey. Town staff is currently evaluating suggestions.
Renovations are expected to be completed by fall 2019.
