Intro to Farragut Class of 2016

Intro to Farragut Reception
The evening of Wednesday, August 17, 2016, was well received by the members of the Intro to Farragut program. All members hope to walk away with more knowledge of how the Town works, what the future plans are, and how they can help be a part of that process. The Town appreciates these citizens who want to learn all they can about their local community.

"My wife, two daughters, and I became residents of Farragut in the summer of 2012.  Before we unpacked the last moving box, we started enjoying Farragut's outstanding amenities, convenient proximity to shopping, restaurants, and work, and excellent educational institutions.  It was not long after we settled into our new home that we realized we were (and still are) blessed to live in a very special community, not because of its amenities or convenience, but because of the people who live in it.  Farragut has become, and will always be, our hometown, and I want to learn its history, structure, and governance, so I will be better equipped to give back to a town that has given so much to my family."

"I currently serve on the Economic Development Committee.  I am interested in learning about the Town, the goals adn how the departments are structured.  Change will happen to Farragut, but I am hoping to learn about the city and help keep this town a small community, a place that I want to continue to raise my children and an area that I am proud to be from."

"I've lived in Farragut for almost 20 years but worked in the Oak Ridge area for much of that time so had limited opportunity to get involved in town activities.  Now that I am retired, I serve as a Board member for the Sweet Briar subdivision and I have become more involved in the Town of Farragut activities and I love it!  I see this as an opportunity to learn more about my home town and hopefully become more equipped to give back to my community."
