Technology for Seniors

Participants must be 55 or older and bring their own devices to class. Classes are limited to five participants, so register early!

Immunization Lunch and Learn with Walgreens

  • Monday, Aug. 7, 12:30 PM
  • Cost: Free
  • Registration deadline: Friday, Aug. 4

Jennifer Aramburo, Walgreens pharmacy manager, discusses recommended immunizations based on personal history and the latest age-related guidelines from the CDC. A light lunch will be provided.


AARP Smart Driving Program


  • Friday, Sept. 15, 8:30 AM – 5 PM
  • Cost: $15 for AARP members; $20 for non-AARP members. Bring a check to class.
  • Registration deadline: Monday, Sept. 11

Participants must bring their AARP membership card or their membership number to the class to receive the $5 discount. Membership numbers can be obtained by calling 1-888-687-2277. Participants must be 55 years of age or older and complete eight hours of class time to be eligible for a discount (up to 10%) on their auto insurance. The program covers such topics as age-related physical changes and declining perceptual skills, and serves as a refresher course for the rules of the road.

Hypertension Lunch and Learn with Walgreens

Jennifer Aramburo, Walgreens pharmacy manager, discusses high blood pressure, also called hypertension, which has no symptoms but can damage the heart, brain, and kidneys. A light lunch will be provided.

TWRA Boating Safety Education 

  • Wednesday & Thursday, August 9-10, 6 – 9 PM

No pre-registration required. Any Tennessee resident born after Jan. 1, 1989, must show the TWRA-issued wallet Boating Safety Education Certificate as proof of successful completion of the TWRA Boating Safety exam. No other certificate will be accepted as meeting the requirements of the law. Please bring Type 600 boating safety exam permit to class. The permit is available from any business (license agent) that sells hunting and fishing licenses (WalMart, sporting goods stores, bait stores, marinas, etc.).
