Don’t miss these stories of ecological and cultural restoration from Native communities, including the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians.
Cherokee Lecture by Shirley Sizemore Hembree
Sunday, July 23, 2 PM at the Farragut Museum. Cost: Free. While learning about her Native American roots, Hembree developed an interest in the history of the Indians east of the Mississippi River. The lecture begins in 1607 with the first permanent English colony in America and ends with the “Trail of Tears.” The Museum opens at 1 PM so visitors can see “Roots of Wisdom: Native Knowledge. Shared Science.” Light refreshments will be provided.
