Health Insurance
  • Health insurance is effective after 30 days of employment.
  • The Town currently pays 100% of the cost for full time employees and their dependents.
Dental Insurance
  • Dental insurance is effective following 30 days of employment.
  • The Town currently pays 100% of the cost for full time employees and their dependents.
Vision Insurance
  • Vision insurance is also effective following 30 days of employment.
  • The Town currently pays 100% of the cost for full time employees and their dependents.
Paid Time Off
  • Vacation/Annual Leave: Employees in regular full time positions earn between 12 and 30 days per year depending upon length of Town service.
  • Sick Leave: Employees in full time regular positions earn 12 days per year.
  • Paid Holidays: There are 10 official Town holidays. Employees in full time regular positions are eligible for paid holiday time.
  • Funeral Leave: All employees in full time regular positions are granted 3 days of funeral leave. This leave is non-cumulative.
Retirement Plan
  • All employees in a regular full time position are required to participate in Social Security and may contribute up to 4% of pre-tax wages into a 401(k) account.  
  • The Town matches the employee contribution amount dollar-for-dollar. Increased dollar-to-dollar matches are available based on years of service. 
  • Supplemental Retirement Plan: 457 Deferred Compensation Plan-Town of Farragut employees have the option of making contributions to a 457. The Town does not make contributions to this plan.
Disability Insurance
  • The Town provides long term disability insurance to all regular full time employees.
  • The plan will pay up to 60% of the employee’s base income for any injuries or illness' that last beyond 90 days. 
Life Insurance/AD&D
  • The Town provides full time regular employees with an individual term life insurance policy which has a benefit of 2 times an employee’s annual salary.
  • The policy includes an accidental death and dismemberment benefit equal to the life insurance.
Direct Deposit
  • Is offered to all employees.
Other Benefits
  • Parking is provided free of charge at or near work sites
  • Tuition assistance is available upon completion of the initial probationary period
